Ten Family Stressors

There more many stressors to children today. Here are just ten of them. These are not in any order.
1. relationships
2. finances
3. health care
4. housing
5. media
6. time
7. parents schedule
8. education
9. technology
10. family issues

No matter if any of these stressors directly or indirectly effect a child they still do. Things like relationships, health care, housing, parent issues are going to have a greater effect than finances, media, and time. I rermeber when growing up there where subjects that was not directly in my path but boy did I sure feel the effects of it. Even though kids are relisant there are just somethings that will leave a lost lasting impresstion and or effect on them. Take for instance childern whos parents are dicorved. They almost always feel that their parents brake up was becuase of them, they too make poor reationship chioces latter in life, and so on.

80's and 90's child

I was born in the mid 70's. I would have to say that I am a child of the 80's and 90's. Even though I grew up in the South Bay, my parents never worried about my brother and I. Jon (my brother) an I would play from sun up to sun down with out a care in the world. He and I would walk 4 miles to the community pool and swim for hours unpon hours. I wasn't even in sixth grade and my girlfriends and I would take public transit all over the Bay with out our parents being concerned.

Once I got into hig school socity changed. Technoogy, gabe consols, cell phones, e-mail, double parent incomes and hih devorce rate have all contributed to were we are today.

I can assure that is why we live out in the country. We are very thankful to live where we do. They boys can play outside all day long as long as the gate is hsut and locked. (we live close to a road and they are under 3) There are a few bad things about were we are; 1- a terriable school disitrict, 2- there are no other small chidern for my boys to play with, and 3- there is a very small enrichment value here.

I think that most parents today want to eigther ingonre their kids, rely on techonogy to raise them, or worst yet medicate them. All that allows for this next genration to be disrecptfull, rude, but also allows them to be adaptable at the same time.
